Each year, thousands of people get quotes from garages to change the battery on their Mercedes key fob, but did you know that it’s actually pretty easy to do it yourself at home?

Here’s how to change a Mercedes key battery – no mechanic required!

1.) Look at the underneath part of your key fob. You should be able to see a mechanism, which you can slide across to reveal the valet key.

2.) If you look into the mechanism, you should be able to see a little grey piece of metal.

3.) Remove the valet key, and use it to push the little grey piece of metal.

4.) Using your thumb, press on the fob a push upwards, pushing the chrome part of the key outward.

5.) Once this has been done, the battery case will just slide out once the lock has been released.

6.) Simply change the batteries and you’re good to go!
