Mercedes Engine Checklist

How do you know you can trust our Mercedes Engines?

Here at Dronsfields, we understand that buying a new Mercedes engine is a big commitment.

Mercedes Benz engines aren’t cheap and it’s important you have peace of mind that the part is in good working order and safe to use before you part with your money.

So how can we guarantee your new Mercedes engine will last?

Dronsfields Engine Checklist

Every one of our engines go through carefully composed tests to ensure they work properly and are safe to use.

The vehicles that we remove the engines from are "run up", meaning that the engine is started and run at idle before anything is dismantled to reduce any erroneous data.

Once the engines have risen to the correct temperature we use genuine Mercedes STAR and Xentry diagnostic computers to check the engine.

These diagnostic tools check the engine control unit (ECU) for any current or stored faults, including all sensors on the engine and exhaust system.

Once the ECU has been checked and tested, it’s time for the engine injectors to be tested. We then check the engine’s timing to ensure it’s within a specified tolerance. It’s also checked to make sure there’s no continual timing adjustment, along with the compression of each cylinder.

Our specialised system also ensures that any other electronic control units are thoroughly checked for faults.

If the engine falls below tolerances, it is reconditioned and is not sold as a used unit.
